Evangelism Ministry

Did you know that when Martin Luther began the Reformation, he and his allies referred to themselves as “evangelicals”? That word has taken on many other meanings in our time, yet the word actually means “those with good news.” Evangelism is the simple act of sharing the good news of God’s love in Jesus and inviting others to trust in this love and join in God’s work. St. John's Evangelism Ministry is dedicated to spreading the good news to current and future members.

New/Re-member Class

What does it mean to be part of the St. John's community?

How do we understand being Lutheran?

How can you deepen your relationship and commitment to Jesus through this church?

Our New Member Class is for anymore who is not yet an "official" member of St. John's.

It is also a chance for existing members to get a refresher on who we are. Perhaps you have been curious about making a formal commitment to "belong" or you were baptized here many years ago and now are back as an adult. You are already a member, but want to remember what is means to be a part of this body of Christ.

On Saturday, 9/18, this session has been canceled and will be combined with Sunday's class.

On Sunday, 9/19, we will gather with others from St. John's to learn more about who St. John's is, what is expected of those who belong to this community and how you can get involved.

At the end of the two classes, individuals will decide if they would like to join St. John's or re-affirm their commitment to this community.  For questions, please contact Edwina Otto, Evangelism Committee or Pastor Erin Morris.
