November 22nd is a very big day in the life of St. John’s.

For all these experiences, we ask that you continue to keep your neighbor in mind: wear a mask, keep social distanced when possible, practice good hand hygiene and stay home if you are not feeling well or have been around someone who has tested positive in the past 2 weeks.

WELCA ThankOfferring, 9&11 Service

Join the women of our church as they lead us in worship. This tradition has existed for over 30 years and lifts up the vital ministry that women in the church have done and continue to do. A special ThankOffering is held for the Greater Spartanburg Ministries. Please bring non-perishable foods to give to those who are in need.

Decorating the Chrismon Trees, 1:15 in the PLC

It will begin to look like Christmas as we get ready to begin Advent in a week. Join others from St. John’s as we put up our Chrismon Trees and begin to decorate our worship space for this very unusual Advent.

LCY FAMILY SERVICE EVENT (Families of youth 6-12th Grade) for the VETERAN HEALTH CLINIC

LCY Families will be putting together a POTLUCK MEAL for our local Spartanburg VA Clinic staff--many are both veterans and healthcare workers (approximately 40-45 people)! Choose a family favorite Thanksgiving dish and prepare it at home. Make in a disposable dish or one you do not want returned. Bring it to the Fellowship Hall on November 22nd at 2:00. We will gather all the dishes, as well as here from some of our congregation members who have been touched by serving in the Military and are serving in the frontlines during this pandemic. Then we will create cards for these health care workers. Please contact Michelle Brock (864) 580-8060 or Bernie Depra (864)285-7104 with questions or sign up via this link: It has all the information as to what kinds of food we are needing.

Advent Experience November 22nd, 3:00-4:30 for Families of All Ages and Stages

PLC with sign-ups happening on line or call the church office

This will be an Advent like no other we have experienced. Come on the 22nd to join with other St. John's Families to prepare for this holy season. You will make your own Advent Wreath to take home to light each week. You will receive materials to celebrate the season with our theme Let Earth Receive Her King. You will learn the history of the Advent, Advent Wreath, Advent Calendar and the Chrismon. And we will come together as a Family in safe and distanced ways.
